Here I am at my criticizing best, but I mean no offense to its creators. Since I have met them personally (I dont know whether they remember our meeting or not), I know they are bright entrepreneurs who are out there to do wonderful things.

No parallel integration. Posting to n number of channels is not an easy task, there should be some tool where in where in, when I post to my blogger or wordpress blog then it comes down iBranch blog directly. If facebook can do so...so can you, that should be some simple RSS integration.

Why arent there collaborative tools, if its meant for an organization, then you can not do away with collaborative tools, like white boards, document makers, in built chatting client etc etc... Google WAVE and its open structure is going to change this scene in big way...

Why arent there iBranch widgets, which I can put somewhere else directing traffic to iBranch blog.

Having a twitter like thing is not that big ask, Yammer is doing it wonderfully, a closed twitter. I want something like twitter in iBranch.
Lets accept this single fact, longer you engage me (anyone for that matter) larger traffic would be there, even in terms of closes system like iBranch.

iBranch is a niche product, and wonderful in sense that it caters to a space which no other service does, but there are lot many services out there which are taking up my online time and not allowing me to come on iBranch ( I am just shrugging off my super power of procrastinating ).

Open for any dialogue, and even for a lash back from its creator...as that would only lead to bettering this wonderful product.

Re: Why I dont like coming on iBranch?

Hey Kartik! Thanks for both... the good words as well as the criticisms! But so many of criticisms in the same blog... man! its going to be a long reply :)

ok let me take it 1 by 1

K: "there should be some tool where in where in, when I post to my blogger or wordpress blog then it comes down iBranch blog directly. If facebook can do so...so can you"
R: totally justified. this kind of integration is on the cards, however being a startup taking care of essentials becomes the priority and good-to-have features always get 'procrastinated' ;)

K: "Why arent there collaborative tools, if its meant for an organization, then you can not do away with collaborative tools, like white boards, document makers, in built chatting client etc"
R: the answer to this would form an essay on 'devising value propositions', but i'd love to discuss this at length offline. However we do have given white boards at many places on iBranch, tell me what exactly you mean by "white board"? Chat clients can any day be enabled provided the management of college allows :)

Well for now i can say that Widgets, microblogging features, Web 2.0 like integrations and Mashups are all great-to-have stuff, and its just a matter of time when we dish them out.

We are telling colleges that iBranch shall provide you with your official portal for students and teachers to do day-to-day interaction, info sharing & knowledge sharing through Internet. So we are already neck deep fulfilling those claims!

But please continue to write such high quality critic stuff... it sure keeps us on our toes.... Thank you for all your expectations!

Re: Why I dont like coming on iBranch?

Hey, Raghu nice to have reply from you. Push in an email at kartik.trivedi@aol.in for any weekend offline meeting after diwali, will love to meet and discuss (Listening an entrepreneur is best thing which a non entrepreneur can do and pleasure will be all mine.)
Embedded chat clients are waste...they seldom work...(never work)
>>check this out 37signals.com/ specially backpack and campfire. 37 signals model though is not completely like yours but yes, they are in ways like iBranch model, at least in business sense.
>>I can cent percent understand what you are intending to do and i can truly appreciate your stuff and rigors which you might be facing.
I will keep on posting some nice suggestions...do not worry on that part... ;)

Re: Why I dont like coming on iBranch?

Kartik, amazing demands. Poor Raghu and ibranch/ Though if I were them I would subcontract to you and make you work on making this website everything you want it to be.
Kartik this is addresseds to you because you make films but also to anyone else with an opinion. Warner Brothers is investing in Indian films in a big way (Chandani Chowk to China) while Reliance is investing in Bollywoiod films with tie ups with Bradd Pitt, tom Hanks, Steven Speilberg etc.
Any thoughts, opinions and insights into these events. i am researching this Hollywood Bollywood connection for a paer on film studies
