The Howrah Bridge is an Engineering Marvel of India, the concept is based on Cantilever(no support) , it is built arround 1939 with 333 crores of rupees at that time , it is one of the busiest bridge in the world .It was opened to traffic in 1943 . There are only few cantilever Bridge in the world and our Howrah Bridge is one of them. Now it is called Rabindra Setu.
