I think both of you are right. We should have some sort of induction for the first year people.
Also all of us have limited energy. If we use it positively, we cannot use it destructively. I also liked the blog written by the student who asked why we need ibranch. Plus the very calm reasoned answer given by the ibranch team.
I think we should call them over and have them teach us entrepreneurship.

In praise of our students
We have a faculty empowerment programme going on at present and it
is being held by Wipro. They have a mission called Mission 10X and they want to change
engineering education.
Some of the students are working with us on making this a success. I am going to put in their names and
other details later but basically I got hold of Shashank Dixit at the last moment and he put together a team
and they are so impressive. Nothing seems to faze them I had them meet one of the resource people
and he was very impressed with our UIT products.
So collars up girls and boys. There is so much gold hidden there but you have to be careful
to use your energies well.
